Happy July to you all! I hope that the summer has been treating you well and that you are getting excited about the upcoming school year.
I want to bring your attention to a few things: First of all, we have a few new additions to our incoming class list; since I last wrote, two more students have enrolled to take courses this fall. Welcome to our blog!
Also, I want to encourage you all to write a brief paragraph about yourself on the blog, if you’d like… a way to introduce yourself before we all get to meet face-to-face. My class really enjoyed our pre-seminary “blog” correspondences--- If you bring it up to some of us, you’ll still hear a lot of uproarious laughter and story-telling. Feel free to make the blog your own.
* To actually post on the blog, you need to become an “author” to the blog… I just sent an invitation to you all to be an author on the blog (Sorry to those who got this twice—I tried to cut down) . You should receive that at your e-mail address and respond… Then you can write on the blog. Let me know if you have any questions…
Michelle Walker, Director of Housing & Financial Aid, has a few announcements she would like to share.
Maintenance is hard at work preparing campus housing for your arrival. If you have been assigned housing, don’t forget that there are two steps you need to take before you come to campus. If you haven’t already done so, send your one month equivalent deposit to Michelle Walker. And then, call her to make an appointment to move in. As of July 9, only two folks have made their move-in appointments. Don’t wait until the last minute. Call early to make sure Michelle is available when you get to town.
** In this vein, I have been able to take some photos of this work. I will upload photos shortly of some of the housing for you all to see (especially for those of you who have not yet been to campus, so you can imagine what the housing will be like).
Also, Michelle continues:
If you are planning to apply for a student loan, please be aware that Michelle is going on vacation on July 24th and will not be back in the office until August 11th. In order to insure that loan funds are disbursed to you by August 28th, she suggests that you get your loan application and related forms to her no later than July 17th. Don’t forget that you have to have completed the FAFSA (fafsa.ed.gov) in order for her to process a loan for you. Instructions and all other forms you will need to request a loan can be found at http://tinyurl.com/SFTSFA09.
In the meantime, keep your questions coming! What is San Anselmo like? What kind of information would you like about the seminary & town?!
Yours faithfully,
Elizabeth (Class Shepherd)
